Kourtaliotiko Gorge & Waterfall
Kourtaliotiko Gorge is one of the most impressive natural landscapes in southern Crete. A wide trail leads down into the gorge, followed by a climb along comfortable stone steps towards the waterfall. Along the way, you’ll enjoy dramatic views of the rocky cliffs, lush vegetation and the narrow gorge below. The sound of running water makes the walk especially atmospheric. Depending on the season and water levels, you may also have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the natural pools beneath the waterfall. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as the trail includes both walking and steps.
Saint Paisios Church
The small Saint Paisios Church is peacefully located on a hill above Damnoni, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of southern Crete. This charming chapel is a lovely place to take a short break away from the busy beaches and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. Inside, you can see beautiful wooden icons and simple traditional details. Outside, the elevated position offers wonderful panoramic views over the surrounding hills, Damnoni and the blue waters of the Libyan Sea. It is also a great photo stop, especially on a clear day when the coastline stretches beautifully into the distance.
Damnoni Beach
Damnoni Beach is one of the most attractive bays on the south coast of Crete, known for its beautiful scenery and clear turquoise waters. Surrounded by rugged mountains, the beach creates a spectacular contrast between the blue sea, golden sand and rocky landscape. It is an ideal place to slow down after exploring the gorge and simply enjoy a few hours by the sea. Swim in the crystal-clear water, relax on the beach or try one of the available water activities. The combination of natural scenery, warm Mediterranean sunshine and refreshing sea makes Damnoni a perfect final stop.
